Using microwave technology, the sensor is designed to continuously measure nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium in manure streams, without ever contacting the liquid. Installed directly within an LWR manure treatment system, it has the potential to provide producers with real-time nutrient data, eliminating the need for manual sampling and laboratory testing.
The technology could help improve nutrient management, support more precise land application, reduce input costs, and give producers greater confidence in the nutrient value of their manure.
The research team has successfully validated multiple nutrient combinations and filed a U.S. patent as they move toward commercialization, with field trials expected to continue through 2027.

This month, one of our latest systems was shipped to a Canadian customer and will soon be installed to help improve on farm manure management. It's one of several projects keeping our team busy, with another system already being prepared for shipment to the United Kingdom.
